Carpal Tunnel Release
Carpal tunnel syndrome results from compression of the median nerve at the wrist level. The clinical symptoms include numbness, burning pain at night and weakness and clumsiness. Nerve conduction studies can confirm carpal tunnel syndrome. First line of treatment is conservative with splints and anti-inflammatories. If this fails you will require operative release of the transverse carpal ligament to take the pressure off the median nerve.
