The Seasons Of Your Skin
- Posted on: May 15 2016
It’s true. Your fragile facial skin is out there, constantly exposed to winter’s chill and summer’s heat. Each season of the year presents its own skin care challenges and different skincare routines. Summer, fall, winter, spring – give your skin the loving care it deserves to thrive throughout the year – but especially now that summer is almost here.
Step up your skin-care routine for summer with these four tip
- Moisture is a very good thing. Invest in a good facial moisturizer and you won’t be sorry. You should have been keeping your skin moist during the winter months…but now that the sun is about to shine daily, moisture is an essential ingredient for soft, summer-ready skin.
- Exfoliation is essential. The frigid, dry winter air is so harsh on your skin; sloughing off winter’s dead cells can renew, refresh and revive it. If you haven’t exfoliated the dead skin cells from your face all winter, just do it! You can exfoliate gently at home by using a soft washcloth or, if you want an easy DIY scrub recipe, you can mix granulated sugar with honey or olive oil for an extra bit of hydration. Be gentle. Don’t tug at your skin or rub it too vigorously. The idea is to work up to exfoliating two to three times a week. The best time to do it is in the shower while your facial skin is moist and warm.
- Don’t forget the sunscreen. This goes without saying…year-round. The damaging ultraviolet rays of the sun can wreak havoc with your skin. So, get it, keep it with you, and apply it frequently and liberally. Better yet, choose a moisturizer with sunscreen.
- To really revitalize, schedule an appointment for a non-invasive CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing or try a JUVEDERM® filler or BOTOX® injectable treatment. These treatments are designed to improve the appearance of dull skin, fine lines and wrinkles, blackheads, and sun damage. They are quick and easy and just the thing to get your skin ready for summer.
