A rhinoplasty has several specific goals. Some facilitate breathing as well as improve facial appearance. Some of the benefits of a nose job include:

Rhinoplasty Procedure

During the rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Shah is able to artfully reconstruct the bones and cartilage within the nose to deliver well-proportioned and attractive results. If you’d like to increase, reduce, or re-angle your nose, this procedure may be the right choice for you.

Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia. It usually takes from 1 to 2 hours to complete. There are two techniques when it comes to performing a nose job, open and closed. In a closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made within the nostrils. In an open rhinoplasty, the incision is made across the columella, the tissue between the nostrils. Depending on the correction required, Dr. Shah will determine which technique is best used for the patient.

Nose Job Recovery

Plastic Surgery - Rhinoplasty

Immediately after nose job surgery, the patient’s nose and eyes are usually bruised and swollen. Splints and some packing material will remain inside the nose for a few days. Most patients feel like themselves within a few days and are able to return to regular activities in about a week

During your rhinoplasty recovery, the initial swelling will subside within a few weeks. It may take up to a year for your new nasal contour to fully refine. During this time you may notice gradual changes in the appearance of your nose as it refines to a more definite outcome.

Dr. Shah will give out specific instructions on how to care for the incision site to avoid infection and medications to help with swelling and initial discomfort.
